Strata
Stone paper is made from ground limestone and does not soak up water, so the paint pools and dries from its edges inward. As it dries, water flows outward and carries pigment to the rim, leaving a dark tide line. Layer after layer, the lines build a map that reads like sediment or a contour survey.
